A Smart trip to France

Last Christmas vacation had been awesome for my friends. They had a trip of eight days that lasted from 25th December till 1st of January  They had been to France. I have only seen France in movies and on the Internet, not otherwise. My parents were not allowing me to go with my friends. But guess what? This year we are paying a visit to France.

France is the hub of old wine, intoxicating cheese and Gallic humor and of-course world's best Pizza. French  people have different accent but sounds like someone is speaking with a mouth full of candies. As soon as my friends reached France, they judged that almost all the people spoke french. They only knew English and Hindi. This made them pretty uncomfortable till one of them had an idea of downloading LingoDiction LingoDiction is a smart language-trainer app that allows the travelers, business men and language enthusiasts to learn new languages with utmost ease and efficiency. Now things had become very easy on their end and downloading the app was like winning a war on the trips. Lot many things had set straight. They need not require any help of any kind of other translator of so. LingoDiction was providing them with the best of platform. But this was not the end they needed someone to guide them. They did not want to hire a guide else there would be interference. They were thinking how to resolve the problem lest they saw an advertisement board of RouteIt.

Now they had almost everything in their hands. They could track routes of various places to visit along with fabulous hotels. They could easily know the famous mall, resort, hotels and even hospital that was close by. One of my friend even fell ill due to the change of weather. My friends could easily trace the nearest reachable hospital. Within few hours he recovered. The fun part had regained once again. There was laughter and it seemed they had entire France cheering with them. LingoDiction and RouteIt had set life so straight and easy going. Since this New Year, it's my turn I already have the two massive amazing apps. So friends hurry up its time for real smart work. Download these smart apps and remain updated always.

About Shri Dattatreya and Shri Guru Charitra
Dattatreya (Sanskrit: दत्तात्रेय, Dattātreya) or Datta. Dattatreya is a Hindu God who is an incarnation of the Divine Trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The word Datta means "Given", Datta is called so because the divine trinity have "given" themselves in the form of a son to the sage couple Atri and Anasuya.

Shri Guru Charitra' is the life of 'Shri Guru Dattatreya' (an incarnation of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara). The book originally had 52 Chapters; the 53rd Chapter of "Avatarnika" summarizes the previous 51 chapters. Smart Phone or Dumb Phone it’s what an app makes it

The past 10 years we've seen cellphones transform into electronic Swiss army knives with a wild variety of functions and features. They are replacing the watch, the camera, the standalone GPS, the alarm clock, and many other tools.

But what will the smart phones of the future look like?
Here's what we envision ...
In five years, the Patent Wars are over and Apple emerges victorious. The company has trademarks of many design features, including many types of curves. As a result, competing smart phone manufacturers resort to triangular or angular forms. It may not be long before such a killer app makes an appearance. The bar-code scanning ability of the auto focus camera on new devices suggests some possibilities. This is the basis of a popular app that is remarkably handy for checking prices when, for example, you are out shopping for a new HDTV. Bar-code scanning combined with printing and database querying capabilities could turn the device into a powerful laboratory information management tool for samples and reagents. The camera combined with text recognition could be used to access the material safety data sheet for any chemical. Bar-codes in scientific publications could direct readers to relevant online information or raw scientific data.

The ability to interface with other devices using different wireless protocols could be used for remote sensing or instrument control.App development has maintained extremely rapid growth over the past two years, particularly among the Android and iPhone platforms. The latter is now estimated to have over 150,000 apps after starting with just over 500 in July 2008. Android started later and with a much smaller pool of roughly 30 apps but has since grown to over 20,000 titles in roughly a year and a half.

BlackBerry App World, the Palm App Catalog and Windows Marketplace have also had a limited amount of success, although the latter may experience a "reboot" as Windows Phone 7's incompatibility will force many to rewrite apps to support the new OS.

What about the applications??
Applications are the new tools which makes a phone smart, without having useful applications your phone is not called as a Smart Phone but it also depends upon the user that how smart choices he makes to install an application for his desired use. Many of us find the trouble getting one particular application which will satisfy the need of the user. From games to utilities to entertainment everything has become so handy and compact that 1MB has again made a mark that how useful this small amount of data can do wonders.

Flooding applications over your smart phone is a threat because in the competitive world where everything changes in a fraction of second you need new ideas to fulfill new needs of a human being.People starting to make New Year's resolutions can turn to an app that aims to help them achieve their goals. But again the question arises WILL IT BE REALLY TRUE TO FULFILL THE HUMAN NEEDS??

My Trip to Milan Fashion Week: The Appy Affair

This year’s Milan Spring 2013 Fashion Week has seen curtains with Armani and Cavalli putting up their showdowns on the last day. No, I’m not gonna talk about the apparels and saucy and flamboyant designs exhibited there. Instead, my concern, as always, is more related to travelers who have been there for this fashion fiesta. Being an ardent traveler, I can empathize with itchy-feets for the hassles in dealing with people with lingual and cultural diversities that they have to deal with during their stay in the country.

I could still remember the first time I visited Milan for a family hangout. It was one memorable timeout. But it wasn’t all well everywhere. We missed on so many exciting fun places just because we had scarce info about those. Yeah, I admit, I screwed it big-time by opting for those maps and guidebooks. My bad, I know.

However, I took control before it got totally berserk and used my smartphone to rescue us. I was never that tech-savvy, but my 9-year old told me about the travel apps I could use to make things better. I surfed through the App Store, and Eureka, I’ve got my solution bundled in those miniaturized pieces of software. I checked out the travel section and found many travel apps there. Although it took me some time and research to pick the best app, but later I realized that all that time was worth spending. Having downloaded many travel-related apps on my mobile, exploring Milan became a cake walk. Since then, I’m a strong proponent of having useful apps on phone. So cheerio folks

Your Cultural Visit to Paris: What Should be There in Your Knowledge Kit

When it’s about ranking cities on the basis of their completeness in terms of cultural opulence and modern outlook, there’s hardly anyone who wouldn’t name Paris in that list. The majestic French capital gets massive footfall from pleasure travelers, students, business travelers, alike. In fact, Paris is no less than a gold mine for culture and art aficionados. One can find several art exhibitions in Paris at any given point of time. It has a lot to offer to the world, but the critical question is are you ready to embrace it? Are you sure the next time you’re planning a visit to Paris you wouldn’t let lack of language be a handicap? Have you made plans to do away with that perplexing sign language that might have its own characteristic cultural implications?

If you’re also one of those super-curious souls who’re looking forward to read the story of the development of the mankind through those artifacts, the here are a couple of advices for you:

  • Avoid using those hard-to-carry travel guidebooks, as in addition to being bulky, they’re usually not well-updated. Instead, go for smartphone or tablet apps. These apps are generally more affordable, and reliable than those obsolete manuscripted accounts.
  • Since big cities are cultural melting-pots, it’s always sensible to have a hands-on knowledge of different languages. You should get apps that can address your different travel-related needs with adequacy.
  • Try hands on the demo versions of some language apps, and go for the one that doesn’t make you a language expert but lets you converse smartly with people there.

Global Travel Market : Apps are the New Genie Lamps

With the Globe condensing into a small yet profoundly wired village, the travel industry has grown leaps and bounds. These days, the travel paraphernalia doesn’t only include travel gears, and some guide books, but it’s also about enriching smart devices with an umpteen number of apps that’ll come handy for users in their bid to explore the world.

Smartphone and tablet apps have emerged as saviors, and turn the world travel market right on it’s head. These bite-sized pieces of software have literally shrunk the information to best fit in to the people’s pocket. Not just that, the revolution doesn’t confine only to delivering information concisely, but also making sure that it’s available at super affordable prices.

Travel apps is an umbrella term that includes multitude of other apps under its ambit like Travel Info Apps, Language Apps, Apps for finding Hotels and other facilities, among many other intriguing verticals. It’s just a matter of finding the best that suits both your wallet and needs equally. It’s recommended to go through the app descriptions properly before making a purchase. In addition, a sound analysis of the Demo Version (if any) is recommended before opening your wallet to any app.

Hugo Award: A Snapshot

Hugo Award: A Snapshot

Are you concerned that your scientific fantasies and stargazes have to die a usual fainting death? Well, you should start penning those fantasies as organically-linked thoughts in a book, and who knows you might get a nomination for the coveted Hugo Awards. Established back in the year 1955, Hugo Awards recognizes science fiction works in around a dozen categories. It’s not just about the written pieces, but dramatic works also fall under its ambit.

Hugo Award is given out by the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS), and it’s christened after Hugo Gernsback, a prolific science fiction writer, renowned for his cult fiction magazine Amazing Stories. The society acknowledges popular works in English which have been published in the past calendar year. Since it’s all about fiction and fantasies, the nominations understandably have no pre-defined criterion.

This year, Jo Walton, bagged the award for her work “Among Others” in the highly-anticipated Best Novel category. However, the grapevine had it that George R. R. Martin would be the clincher, but Jo Walton edged him out. although his widely popular “Game Of Thrones” did manage to grab the best in the Long Form category.

What Should a Good App for Translation Have?

Being an ardent traveler, you must have been to places that don’t have English as the main language. In fact, in some of the remote regions English is no better than an alien language. Your jitteriness at such places is pretty obvious. No wonder you find yourself apologizing for one or the other thing in the wake of avoiding any cultural blunder that might happen due to your ignorance.

However, with technology at your rescue, these issues aren’t that gruesome as they might appear. You can always use your powerful smartphone to get some useful app for translation installed on it. A travel app of this kind is definitely a good assistance to have when it comes to setting conversations with locals. Don’t mistake such an app for translation for a full-fledged lexical tool. But these generally have sets of important words or phrases suitably picked for traveling requirement.

Now the real problem is that these app stores are literally flooding with such apps for translation sporting considerable price-tags. This means you should have your eyes and ears open before shelling out money to snap one for yourself. First of all you have to be very clear about your requirements. That is, whether you’re looking for a rather comprehensive app for translation, or just a smart travel app to manage needed conversations on the go. However, there are chances that you come across an app that somewhat fits in both the brackets.

Once you’ve zeroed in about what you need, the next step involves scanning the app for its features and usability. This is a critical step in selecting an app for translation. A complicated app in terms of features or navigation is nothing but a sheer waste of money and time. It’s recommended to be watchful and inquisitive while sifting through the lite or demonstrative versions of any app. Spend some time with the app and try and go through all its screens properly. Check out if the learning methods described in the app go well with your style of learning, and if the navigation menus are easy to negotiate.

Now comes the last yet certainly the most important aspect of selecting a good travel app - “value for money”. Carry out a comparative analysis before coughing up money for an app for translation. Scan most of the popular apps across various parameters to get a feel. Go to users’ ratings, comments, and feedbacks. You can also use social media for having a better idea.
